June- Staff Development:
As a public service organisation, the counncil has the dual mandate of promoting the practice of architecture and protecting the interest of the general public towards a healthy, sfae and sustainable built environment. We believe that this can be done by an efficient system with an effective, well-motivated staff.
While there will be individual job-related training during the course of the year, 8th and 9th June 2016 are set aside for general capacity building of the entire staff. This year we will focus on ethics of the public servant, using the Human Resource Management of the public Services Commission (PSC) as the main resource document.
The agenda is to develop the ARC into a trusted, high performing public service organisation. Other activities in june include opening of application for PPE registration for architects, and licensing the technicians. Another major activity willbe in connection with the Architecture Education and Practice policy by the ARC Board on 30th june, 2016.
December – End-of-Year:
As you may be aware, this is the month Architects and Architectural firms take their vacation. The staff of ARC will take their annual two-week vacation within the month of December. However, a skeleton staff will be maintained as usual to attend to our clientele.
